The Martina Collection

The Fall Winter 2020 Collection is reminiscent of the emotional layers found in Martina Hoogland Ivanov’s painterly photographs of the frozen tundra on the Kola Peninsula. These images which were projected on the runway inspired the overlays that Cecilie had designed, to be worn as decorative garments or as protection for a delicate dress, chunky wool knits in earthy colours styled with lurex dresses and skirts, blending fantasy and reality with the pairing of wrinkled curled-up dresses and sculptural suiting. Her kinship with the Swedish photographer’s ethereal images brings a romantic sense of sending her woman out into the wilderness, exposing her to the elements. Sweet yet earthy, for every delicate flutter of sheer organza, there is a chunky knit or cocooning hand-quilted skirt.
