CLOUD MATELASSÈ

Following traditional Italian techniques, a specific and ancient loom in the heart of the Como region has been put back to use to create this intricate matelassé, weaving together 3 layers of yarn. Preserving bygone methods and artisanal work, Cecilie Bahnsen first introduced the Cloud matelassé for SS20 and continues to support craftsmanship and forgotten techniques.

GRASMERE MATELASSÉ

The Grasmere matelassé is a timeless fabrication crafted by skilled artisans in Italy, who bring centuries’ worth of expertise to their work. The fabric is an intricate and textured work with a raised pattern creating a 3 dimensional effect. Floral motifs are created by the weaving pattern, resulting in a quilted effect and highlighted by a delicate sheen that adds to its luxurious look and feel. The matelassé is durable yet soft, making it comfortable to wear.

POSY MATELASSÉ

A classic lightweight matelassé woven on a jacquard loom. The difference in tension of the yarn creates its voluminous texture and floral motif.

GRAPPOLO MATELASSÈ

The Grappolo matelassé forms an abstract, raised pattern that create a three-dimensional effect. A subtle sheen across the fabric adds an elevation to its comfortable feel. A classic fabrication in Cecilie Bahnsen’s universe, it allows for beautifully complex shapes in an understated style.

ABETO MATELASSÈ
A subtle blend of linen gives the Abeto jacquard its textured motif and beautiful hold. The strength and rigidity of the fabric lends itself to Cecilie Bahnsen’s sculptural designs, its couture qualities exemplified in its textured motif. The Abeto matelassé is a nod to AW20’s Aurora matelassé, its the mist blue fabrication.

DAHLIA MATELASSÉ
Feminine and refined, the Dahlia matelassé is crafted from a rich and lush jacquard fabric. A play in yarn tensions allow the fabric to bloom into a 3-dimensional creation, ideal for creating volume and allowing movement within the garment’s structure. The floral matelassé is distinctly recognizable as an expression of Cecilie Bahnsen’s romantic vision, and brings out key colours of the season: soft fern green, mist blue, lavender, and classic black and white.

LUNA JACQUARD
Inspired by the Plume jacquard developed for AW22, the Luna jacquard is a high gloss textile created in the Como region following Italian traditions. Its polyester blend and transparent nylon thread create a surface that appears wet, offering a liquid-like shine that coats an abstract texture.

HAVE JACQUARD
A classic dimensional jacquard, inspired by upholstery’s durable quality. Femininity and romance are expressed through a delicate floral motif and crisp colors, while its outerwear association bring about utilitarian notions.

MELALEUCA JACQUARD
A traditional jacquard technique, creating a remarkable geometrical motif. Composed of threads mixed with paper fibre, the fabric provides a crisp hold while remaining soft to the touch.

NIMBUS MATELASSÈ
Initially developed for SS22, Nimbus matelassé has become a staple fabric in Cecilie Bahnsen’s universe. A classic matelassé technique creates voluminous bubbles of fabric that follow an abstract motif. The high-quality and density of the thread produces soft colours in a beautiful sheerness.

CHECK SEERSUCKER
Inspired by traditional seersucker, this fabric is a mixed yarn jacquard recreating a checkered motif, alternating between different levels of opacity. The multidimensional effect is created by this difference in density and tension in the weaving pattern.
