SENIOR PATTERNMAKER - WOMENSWEAR
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Patternmaker to join our womenswear team in Copenhagen. This role is ideal for a technical expert with a refined understanding of fit, construction, and craftsmanship, capable of translating creative concepts and atelier-driven silhouettes into precise, production-ready patterns.
Reporting to the Patternmaking Manager, you will work closely with Design, Product Development, and Atelier teams, playing a key role in translating collections from concept through to production.
The role requires a strong understanding of both digital pattern development and the sculptural, volume-driven silhouettes central to the Cecilie Bahnsen design language.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop accurate patterns from sketches, drapes, and references
· Attend and contribute actively to fittings, evaluate silhouette, balance, proportion, and construction.
· Create detailed technical packs for production
· Collaborate closely with design, sample machinists, and production teams
· Resolve technical construction challenges and optimise garment execution
· Prepare patterns for bulk production while maintaining production efficiency and garment integrity
· Mentor junior team members and support consistency across styles
· Ensure high standards of fit, quality, and craftsmanship throughout development
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
· Advanced manual pattern cutting skills, including flat pattern cutting and draping
· Strong knowledge of garment construction and finishing techniques
· Excellent eye for fit, proportion, and silhouette
· Deep understanding of fabric behaviour across woven, knit, structured, and delicate materials
· Experience working with volume, sculptural shapes, or tailoring
· Proficiency in CAD systems such as Optitex, Gerber, Clo3D, or similar is advantageous
· Experience preparing production-ready digital patterns preferred
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 7 years of experience in womenswear patternmaking
· Degree in Pattern Cutting, Fashion Design, or equivalent experience
· Background in luxury or advanced contemporary fashion preferred
· Strong technical problem-solving abilities
· Collaborative mindset with clear communication skills
· Fluent in English
· Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to deadlines
· Experience working with European manufacturers is an advantage
